Carter Preparing For Seahawks

Bruce Carter made one tackle in his pro debut against the Eagles on Sunday. The tackle came on special teams were Carter got all of his playing time, but that could change this week. Fellow inside linebacker, Sean Lee, was sidelined with a wrist injury in the first half of the Eagles game and it is uncertain if he can go next Sunday.

It will be “baptism by fire” for Carter as he prepares to make his defensive debut against the Seahawks. Carter has been preparing but it is a steep learning curve, “I’m still learning, but that’s only because I’m just now coming back. But Sean’s a tremendous part of our team. I’m going to have to learn as much as I can from him.”

Carter suffered an injury to his ACL last November and just started practicing two weeks ago. He began the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. He was forced to miss the first six weeks of the season but then was cleared to practice.

He has had a good amount of time to pick up the defense from new coordinator Rob Ryan, but now it is putting that information to practical use, a task that Carter is still working through, “(I’m) just getting comfortable and getting a sense for everything, being able to line someone else up and going from there,” Carter said.

The Cowboys also have linebackers Bradie James and Keith Brooking who will likely start. Both players, like the rest of the Cowboys, struggled against the Eagles and will look to rebound next week.
